The only thing that Edward has to protect them is an old matchlock gun that his father had to show him how to use it. The big question is, will Edward be able to pull the trigger if trouble comes to his door!!!!

Soon after their arrival they find out that there is a mystery that is hidden within the walls of the museum and it takes the two of them along with the help of a few others to solve it.

Review: Within a town there is a yearly fundraiser .The fundraiser holds an annual pigeon shooting, in this particular year the fundraiser had shot down 5,000 live pigeons. In the middle of all the shooting there is a young boy named Palmer. Palmer is what they would call a " Wringer" their job is to break the necks of wounded pigeons. Palmer is conflicted for he doesn't want to harm any pigeons, however he also doesn't want to be made fun of for not being "man" enough to do the task that is needed of him.
Teaching Point: With this book I would use it as a reference in order to teach students that it doesn't matter what people think of you. If its something you believe in fallow it.

However he sees it first hand once he goes on a trip with a man named Mr. Leroy. With this trip Mr. Leroy was trying to regain his money from a double crossing preacher, in order to buy his family from slavery. And its here that Elijah starts to realize the harsh treatment that his friends had endured for many years.

When the family falls into complications with the vineyard Esperanza begins to worry about what is going to happen to her family. Later on in the book there are more complications that occur that place the family in an even tougher position. With everything going on Esperanza is in distress and it at a loss for words. However she ends up learning a valuable lesson in the end.
