In the story "Paranka's Dumplings", it talks about two cooks that have different styles of cooking that work in the same kitchen. Paranka's style is careful and gentle and Olya's is rough and ruthless. One piece of textual evidence is "Olya jabbed at the dough, threw on more flour and whacked it with a rolling pin." This piece of evidence makes me think that Olya has a rough way of cooking than Paranka. In the text, it says "Paranks laughed as she mixed the dumplings dough. Paranka formed the dough into small circles and spooned cherries into the center of each. She gently folded the half-moon pockets, then pinched them closed with her nimble fingers. As Paranka delicately boiled the dough to perfection." This evidence makes me think she makes the dumplings more careful than Olya does.

in the passage "Paranka's Dumplings" it focuses on two different cooks with different styles of cooking who work in the same kitchen. They use two different approaches for making dumplings. These two styles of cooking show their style of cooking and how they make their food and how they were taught to cook. Also how they can use these two different styles of cooking to make food for people and to see how they like it. Olya seems brutal and rough because she seemed like she wanted to get it done and not put any effort into cooking and if she did put effort into her cooking then she might be rewarded by being promoted or getting a raise. Paranaka seems precise and persistent because she seemed like she wanted to finish and get it right and maybe take a long time rather than not putting any effort into it and get it wrong and take a short time. This story shows different examples of how two cooks in the same kitchen have different cooking styles and these are my examples of that.

In the story, "Paranka's Dumplings", Paranka and Olya are two cooks that work in the same kitchen. Although they are both cooks, Paranka is kind and gentle, while Olya is the exact opposite, cruel and mean. These girls have very different styles of cooking, Paranka prepares the food correctly and handles them with care. Olya, on the other hand, has no idea how to cook and makes the food horribly. I know this because in the text it states " Paranka watched in horror as Olya jabbed the dough, threw on more flour and whacked it with a rolling pin. Paranka shook her head and thought, dumplings should be made tenderly and gently." This segment from the text conveys that Paranka is gentle and careful with her dough and makes sure that it is made right, but on the other hand, Olya does not care whether the food is cooked properly or not. This is one way how both cooks have different styles of cooking.

For example, Paranka cooks gentle and calm while taking the time to make them with consistency. Olya, however, takes no time to make the dumplings perfect. She decides to be foolish and make them in a rotten and revolting way. Although Olya is the new head cook she can be quite ruthless with her co-workers.

these are two pieces of evidence showing how the passage "Paranka's Dumplings" show how the two cooks Olya and Paranka have different styles of cooking. one example is on page 2 it says "she ladled out the soup and served the bread rolls. she arranged the fish, meats, and kovbasa onto platters and the holubtsi and vegetables into the bowls. hurrying to make the dumplings, she raced to the flour bin. She threw open the lid and gasped. There was hardly any flour left! Lazy Olya had forgotten to order more to be ground. Paranka scraped the last of the flour from the bin and mixed her dough." and on page 1 it says "Olya jabbed the dough, threw on more flour, and whacked it with a rolling pin. Paranka shook her head and thought, dumplings must be made tenderly and gently. Olya poked cherries into the dumplings and clumsily pinched them shut with her thick fingers. When the dumplings had overboiled in the too-salty water, she put them on a cold, wet, drippy plate and sent them into the dining room." these pieces of evidence show how the two cooks Paranka and Olya use two different kinds of styles in cooking when they're in the same kitchen. in the text, it shows how Paranka was trying to be delicate and have persistence while trying to complete a task in a certain amount of time because she was laying it out perfectly and trying it to make it good. in the text, it shows how Olya didn't care about cooking and she just wanted to finish it and not put any effort into it and she didn't care about if the customer liked it. also if Paranka made good food then Olya would try to say that she made it so the people living in the manor would think she's good and not fire her and paranka would get a little mad. also, Paranka made do with what she got because there was a little flower left and she used it and tried making it good. these pieces of evidence show how two cooks who work in the same kitchen and they have different styles and how they compare them. In conclusion this is a good TDA

The story "Paranka's Dumplings" by Nancy Hallas asks how Olya and Paranka have different approaches to making dumplings. The story conveys to the reader two unalike cooks. They have different styles of cooking. They work in the same kitchen, have separate ways of cooking and preparing food, and have different approaches to making dumplings. Olya seems like she just wants to get her job done, and she doesn’t know what to do because it says she was very harsh on the dough. Paranka, on the other hand, knew what she was doing because she knew you had to be gentle with the dumpling because she had probably made better dumplings Olya is cruel, mean, and bossy. Plus, Olya has no idea how to cook and prepares the food horribly. I know this because the text states, "Paranka watched in horror as Olya jabbed the dough, threw on more flour, and whacked it with a rolling pin." Paranka shook her head and thought, "Dumplings should be made tenderly and gently." This segment from the text conveys that Olya does not care whether the food is cooked or not. This is important because it shows how inexperienced Olya is when it comes to making fresh dumplings. Again Olya does not know how to make dumplings, so she throws the dough around until she gets a dumpling.Paranka is neat and delicate with the dough, and she also knows how to make dumplings. The text states, "Paranka laughed as she mixed the dumpling dough." Paranka formed the dough into small circles and spooned cherries into the center of each. She gently folded the half-moon pockets, then pinched them closed with her nimble fingers. "As Paranka delicately boiled the dough to perfection," This example shows how Paranka is way nicer with the dough than Olya. This is essential because it tells us that Paranka is generally better than Olya at making dumplings. Paranka knows how to make delicious dumplings, so she doesn’t throw around the dough.Olya and Paranka have completely different moods while working in the same manor. In the text, it states, "That afternoon, Olya came to take over the kitchen of the manor." She marched about and braggingly talked about the fine houses she had cooked for all over Europe. Soon she was shrieking orders. Olya laughed scornfully as Paranka and the others scurried about, trying to stay out of her way. It wasn’t long until the older servants had had enough of her nasty ways. Then for Paranka, it says, "Paranka quickly but gently rolled the dough onto the table." As she rolled, she grew calmer. " These examples show that Olya is a rude, grouchy lady, but on the other hand, Paranka is calm, quick, and gentle. This is important because it tells you the difference between Olya and Paranka. Olya does not seem to enjoy her job, but on the other hand, Paranka loves cooking and being a chef. Olya and Paranka have different approaches to making dumplings in the story "Paranka's Dumplings" by Nancy Hallas. Olya’s rudeness from the examples I gave you above made her get fired from her cooking position, but when Olya left, Paranka became the head chef. This shows that Olya did not know what to do, but Paranka did. This is how Olya and Paranka have different ways of making dumplings.
