         <description><![CDATA[<p>Tales de Mileto fue un <strong>filósofo y matemático griego que vivió entre el 624 a. C y el 546 a. C</strong> en Mileto, actual territorio de Turquía. Su filosofía se caracterizó por romper con las explicaciones mitológicas del mundo y dar paso a un pensamiento racional y lógico. A esta transformación se la conoce como <em>el paso del mito al logos</em>, y se considera que así tuvo comienzo la <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://humanidades.com/filosofia/">filosofía</a> occidental.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Uno de los temas principales que ocupó su estudio fue el <em>arjé</em> o principio de las cosas</strong>.Para Tales de Mileto, el principio constitutivo del mundo era el <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://humanidades.com/fisicas-del-agua/">agua</a>, y por eso sostuvo que todas las cosas estaban formadas por ella. Se cree que sus <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://humanidades.com/ideas/">ideas</a> y descubrimientos abarcan disciplinas como la <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://humanidades.com/matematica/">matemática</a>, la ingeniería y la <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://humanidades.com/astronomia/">astronomía</a>.</p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Anaximandro</p><p>(Mileto, hoy desaparecida, actual Turquía, <strong>610 a.C. - id., 545 a.C</strong>.) Filósofo, geómetra y astrónomo griego. Como los restantes filósofos de Mileto, ciudad griega en que surgió la primera escuela filosófica de la historia del pensamiento occidental, Anaximandro de Mileto supuso la existencia de un <em>arjé</em> o principio constitutivo y originario común a todos los seres de la naturaleza. Pero a diferencia de sus compañeros de escuela, que identificaron el <em>arjé</em> con una sustancia física (el agua en Tales de Mileto, el aire en Anaxímenes), Anaximandro estableció como primer principio el <em>ápeiron</em>, término que puede traducirse como «lo indeterminado» o «lo indefinido».</p><p>En su intento de determinar el principio primero, Anaximandro sigue la constante de los demás filósofos milesios, pero es preciso subrayar que en lugar de hallar este principio en una naturaleza finita (<a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.biografiasyvidas.com/tema/agua.htm">el agua</a>, según Tales, o el aire, según <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.biografiasyvidas.com/biografia/a/anaximenes.htm">Anaxímenes</a>), Anaximandro lo ve en algo (el <em>ápeiron</em>) que no es percibido por la experiencia, sino que ha de postularse como causa permanente y trascendente del acontecer del mundo empírico; algo indefinible en el espacio y en el tiempo que es causa y principio de las cosas perecederas y definidas, las cuales están destinadas a disolverse de nuevo en el <em>ápeiron</em>. La novedad de Anaximandro, en cuya doctrina quedan, sin embargo, muchos detalles oscuros, consiste en haber buscado el principio infinito de las cosas finitas fuera de las materias que son objeto de nuestra experiencia.</p>]]></description>

Estos elementos se combinan y se separan para formar todo lo que existe.  Empédocles de Agrigento, a diferencia de otros presocráticos que proponían un solo <em>arjé</em>, sostuvo una visión pluralista ha tomado los principios de Tales (agua), Anaxímenes (aire), Heráclito (fuego) y les ha añadido la tierra. </p>]]></description>

Lo que se sabe de su vida está envuelto por la leyenda, y no hay consenso entre los académicos modernos respecto a su educación o influencias. Eso sí, coinciden en que, alrededor del 530 a.&nbsp;C., viajó a <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crotona">Crotona</a>, en el <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italia_meridional">sur de Italia</a>, donde fundó una <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitag%C3%B3ricos">escuela ético-política</a> en la que <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iniciaci%C3%B3n">iniciados</a> hacían juramentos de secreto y vivían un estilo de vida comunitario y <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ascetismo">ascético</a>, con creencias y observancias comunes, entre las que se incluían normas prescriptivas (como la prohibición de comer <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legumbre">legumbres</a> o ciertas carnes), la preservación y búsqueda del conocimiento <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esoterismo">esotérico</a> y la reverencia al propio fundador. Aunque de naturaleza religiosa, esta escuela formuló principios que influyeron en el pensamiento de Platón y Aristóteles y contribuyeron al desarrollo de las matemáticas y la filosofía racional occidental.</p>]]></description>
