A gap year is when people take the time off to explore their options. Holly Bull, the president of the Center for Interim Programs mentions that gap year can happen at any given moment. Gail Reardon, the person tuning the gap year firm, recommends to apply to colleges during your high school years when you have the help, and then choose. You can always write a letter to explain to them you're taking a gap year and what you plan to accomplish. Gap year cost very little. Advisors do suggest looking into AmeriCorps to receive health benefits, and living arrangements, and also give you an education award of $5, 350 for college. Those who experienced a gay year, 60% of them say it helped them. Fitzsimmons, the dean of financial aid at Harvard, say the kids that come back after their gap year, come back refreshed and excited. When going back to school, you do have to reapply for financial aid. You are most likely to receive scholarships if you did before. When you take a gap year, most students have no problem adjusting because they were used to living on their own, and they are more mature and ready for what college has to bring.

People think going to community college is for students who didn't get accepted into the school they wanted too, it has nothing to offer, and more. Thats not the truth. I think Community college is so underestimated. Community college offers less than a 4 year degree. You can graduate with an associates that help with so many professions. Community college is also cheaper than a regular 4 year college. This is helpful for many college students. Another benefit is you don't have to stress the ACT and SAT exams for community college. If you do choose to go to a four year college, you are able to transfer your credits over.
