         <description><![CDATA[<p>On January 13th, 1935, 15 years after being under LON occupation and control, Germany held a vote whether to reintegrate Saar, a German state, back into Germany, allow France to annex it, or to keep it in LON control. 90% of voters asked for it's reintegration which took full effect on March 1st. (This landslide of votes was due to intimidation, threats, and violence from the Nazi party against Socialists, Communists, and those against the reintegration.)</p>]]></description>

It was a city and strip of land bordering East Prussia which had a substantial German population. </p><p>-Lithuania was in no position to stand up to Hitler and the land was handed over four days later. </p><p> -The occupation of Czechoslovakia by German troops, the French and British governments offered a guarantee of Polish sovereignty against any act of aggression. </p><p>-Britain promised Poland that in the event of German aggression against Poland, France would launch an offensive against the Germans no more than fifteen days after mobilization.</p>]]></description>
