1. Perform Wudu Before Starting Reading

The Quran must be handled only with clean hands, so performing wudu, or ablution beforehand is essential.

Besides attaining purity physically, wudu also enables one to attain spirituality and mental clarity.

2. Sit in a Respectable Manner While Reading the Quran

Due to the fact that Quranic text has been revealed from the Almighty Allah Himself, one should pay due to admiration for it through sitting in a decent manner.

You should always choose a considerate position while holding the Holy Quran in your hands, demonstrating the high opinion you have for our Sacred Book.

3. Put the Quran in an Elevated Position

The Holy Quran has a high status. This is why you must place it in a high place while learning to read it word by word or during recitation. Many people use a clean pillow for this purpose, which is something you can also try doing if you do not own a wooden book rest specifically for reading the Quran.

4. Hold the Quran in Your Right Hand

When you hold the Quran, make sure to hold it in your right hand. The Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) used his right hand whilst performing good work. This is why we encourage you to follow his Sunnah. 

5. Recite Istiaazah and Basmalah

The first and foremost thing that you should do is to recite Istiaazah and Basmalah before beginning to read the Quran.

The following is the translationof Istiaazah:“I seek refuge with Allah from Satan, the Accursed.” [The Noble Quran]

The following is the translationof Basmalah:“In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.” [The Noble Quran]

6. Recite at a Slow Pace

Most beginners make the mistake of trying to read faster because they assume that reciting faster is going to increase their fluency.

However, this is not the case. When you try to recite the Quran fast, there is a high chance that you are going to make mistakes. It is advisable to recite the sacred book of creation slowly in order to comprehend its true meaning.

7. Follow Tajweed rules

This rule is similar to the one we just mentioned above.

In reciting the Holy Quran, we must take great care in terms of how the words are pronounced because Arabic is one of the most complex languages in the world and a little mispronunciation can lead to the true meaning of the verses changing.

You should also try to read the Holy Quran in an attractive tone.

8. Do Not Talk During Quran Recitation

Before you begin reading the Quran, make sure to eliminate each distraction that might distract you from reading the Quran.

This includes mobile phones and even talking to other people.

Keeping a distance from worldly affairs is to prevent being influenced by Satan.

1.The first path is you force yourself and bring yourself to do those actions which you know that Allah wants you to do.

2.The second level is iman where you are not only doing those actions, but you are strengthening your relationship with Allah (swt) and you’re beginning to taste the sweetness of your relationship with Allah.

3.The third level is the level of Ihsan, which is to worship Allah as if you see Him, and even if you cannot see Him, to know that He sees you. So, you are moving in this path, this journey, towards the Divine. And in doing so, it’s getting more and more intense.

2.Belief in Malaikah:Angels are considered beings created by Allah from light, and they serve various purposes in the universe, emphasizing Allah's power and creativity.In addition,Belief in angels provides comfort, as they are viewed as protectors and intercessors who pray for believers and help guide them towards righteousness.

3.Belief in Holy Quran:The Quran serves as a complete guide for all aspects of life, including moral, ethical, legal, and spiritual matters, providing clear direction for personal conduct and community living.In addition,The Quran is considered the primary source of Islamic theology and jurisprudence, laying the foundation for the beliefs and practices of Muslims worldwide.

Prophets and Messengers are believed to be chosen by Allah to convey His message to humanity, providing guidance on how to live righteously and worship Him.In addition,Prophets serve as examples of moral and ethical behavior. Their lives illustrate the principles of Islam, offering believers models to emulate in their own lives.Moreover,Islam recognizes numerous prophets, including well-known figures like Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad. Each brought a message suitable for their time and community, emphasizing Allah's mercy and guidance throughout history.

Belief in the Day of Judgment (Yawm al-Qiyamah) is a fundamental aspect of Islamic faith. Here’s a summary of its key points:

The Day of Judgment is the day when all individuals will be resurrected and held accountable for their deeds in this life, determining their eternal fate in the afterlife.In addition,The Quran repeatedly emphasizes the certainty of the Day of Judgment, providing vivid descriptions of its events and the consequences of one's actions.

3.Belief in Qada and Qadar(Devine decree and predestination.

Belief in the divine decree is one of the fundamental and essential parts of faith without which a person’s faith is not complete unless he believes in it wholeheartedly. The Qur’an and Sunnah, and scholarly consensus, indicate that it is obligatory to believe in the will and decree of Allah, may He be glorified and exalted.

Ihsan applies not only to acts of worship, such as prayer and charity, but also to interpersonal relationships, encouraging kindness, compassion, and justice towards others. It emphasizes the importance of intention (niyyah) and the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of life, ultimately reflecting a believer's commitment to their faith.

2.Obedience: Children are encouraged to obey their parents in matters that do not contradict Islamic teachings. This obedience is seen as a way to please Allah.

3.Gratitude: Expressing gratitude towards parents for their sacrifices and efforts is a vital aspect of adab. Recognizing their role in one’s upbringing fosters appreciation and love.

Adab Towards Neighbour and society:

1.Respect and Kindness: Muslims are encouraged to treat neighbors with respect and kindness, fostering a sense of community and belonging. The Prophet Muhammad emphasized that one’s faith is incomplete without good treatment of neighbors

2.Helping Neighbors: Assisting neighbors in times of need, whether through physical help or emotional support, is considered a virtuous act. This strengthens community ties and promotes goodwill.

3.Consideration and Privacy: Being mindful of a neighbor's privacy and personal space is crucial. This includes not eavesdropping, gossiping, or causing disturbances.

Adab as a Students:

1. Respect for Teachers: Students should show respect to their teachers through attentive listening, polite communication, and appreciation for their efforts in educating.

2.Diligence and Commitment: Demonstrating a strong work ethic by being punctual, prepared, and engaged in class reflects commitment to learning and personal growth.

3.Respect for Peers: Treating fellow students with kindness and respect fosters a supportive and collaborative learning environment, encouraging teamwork and mutual growth.
