Scout puts herself in several characters' shoes throughout the novel and realizes that some people are as bad or not as bad as they seem. Scout comes to the realization that even though some people are judged because of their race or religion, if you put yourself in someone's shoes you realize that the content of someone's character is more important than their appearance.

In To Kill a Mockingbird, the quote above is often represented by Scout. This is because throughout the novel, she does not judge others like the people of the town. She takes the time to imagine other's situations before making assumptions. For example, many people made assumptions about Tom Robinson, particularly racist ones. Although Scout is young, she is intelligent. She listened and payed attention to the court case in order to understand the situation better than most. She learns the dark aspects of it at nine years old. This goes to show her character.

She saw them using a fishing pole with a note attached to it, Jem and her receiving the gifts from the tree, playing their games in the yard, and just growing up overall. Scout is seeing these events through Arthur Radley's point of view. "I had never seen our neighborhood from this angle. There was Miss Maudie's, Miss Stephanie's- there was out house.[...] Just standing on the Radley poech was enough."

In To Kill A Mockingbird, this quote exemplifies Boo Radley, because this quote is talking about people will not completely understand each other until they try and walk around in their shoes for a day. Boo Radley exemplifies this quote, because everyone has their mind made up abut him and how they feel towards him, but all some people here is stories about him and they do not understand how life his for him and how he views it. Boo is different than most characters in the book, and because so many people have heard stories and so many do not know what life his like from his point of view.
