         <description><![CDATA[<div>1: may 7th 1954- viet minh troops over run the French base.<br>significance- this was huge it was the first official military action taken.<br>2: july 21st 1954- vietnam is successively divided into 2.<br>significance- this was a big deal because south was able to separate themselves from the north finally and have some freedom.<br>3: march 1965-&nbsp; US officially joins the war<br>significance-&nbsp; this was a big deal because it gave south a bigger advantage and more leverage to win.<br>4: jan 30th 1968- North sends 80,000 troops to 5 major cities.<br>5:april 30th 1975- The war officially ended.<br>significance- this was a big deal because this war has gone on for a long time and it finally ended.</div>]]></description>

Giving them the victory. 1 effect- One major effect wa the stagering death toll there was a estimated of 3.3 million deaths. 2 effect- the war severly damaged the US econemy.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This war was for sure a part of the bigger cold war. The US and The USSR did not directly fight each other they both had sides fighting for them. The US had the South and the USSR had the North. They both were giving goods to their side and helping them with medicine guns power etc. it contributed to the bigger cold war causing the tension between the to increase a ton. After the US won the war with the south, USSR was even madder with them losing. This war connects to present day because proxys are very common. It has happened many times sense.</div>]]></description>
