10. Toms “One for one” motto is a well known phrase. They’ve recently upped the ante by donating a portion of their sunglass sales to vision care for children in need. But it’s not just consumers that are involved in Toms’ social good, it’s employees as well. Toms’ employees participate in an annual Shoe Drop where they travel and donate a variety of goods to children. Their careers page specifically calls for employees that want to change lives and be a part of a movement.

Romina Noorbakhsh helps Teens for Jeans. Volunteers collect used jeans from schools throughout America, and Teens for Jeans donates them to one of 1,000 homeless shelters across the U.S. and Canada. Last year, Romina and her fellow volunteers at North Hollywood High School collected over 500 pairs of jeans within a little over a month.

“When I went in, I carried this big box of jeans to the store… I was struggling to carry it all the way, so my friend helped me. As we were walking, underneath the box broke and all the jeans fell out. Everyone in the mall was staring and to us… We put the jeans back, we took a few steps furthers, then flop, it all came out again. This time, we were laughing so hard, and we put the jeans back and took it to the store… We finally gave all the boxes and left. I had an amazing feeling… I felt happy that I did something like that, and I was so excited for those kids to get the jeans we collected.”

As celebrated as Ali’s boxing career is, it’s easy to forget he probably could’ve been far greater. The GOAT was a 25-year-old undefeated world heavyweight champion who recently KO’d Zora Folley when he refused to serve in the Vietnam War citing his religious beliefs.

Ali got his boxing license stripped, was found guilty of draft evasion and lost nearly four years of his boxing prime. He continued social work years after he reclaimed the championship and eventually retired. In 2005, The Greatest earned the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his continued sense of social responsibility.
