         <title>Podcast #3 - GoogleSites</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Learned:</strong></div><div><strong>1</strong>. YouTube has educational content for language learners at #LearnALanguage.  (Need to check out.</div><div><strong>2.</strong> Kasey at Shakeuplearning.com is creating an Educational Hashtag Database.  (I will need to check this out when it is finished!)<br><strong>3.</strong>  All new Google Sites design that is as easy to use as Weebly.  (May need to switch over next year.)<br><strong>Will Share:</strong><br><strong>1.</strong>  Students' obsession with video games proves that they can handle failure.  Brilliant!<br><strong>2.</strong>  Google Sites can be used as ePortfolios or projects (move beyond Slides).<br><strong>Will try:<br>1.</strong>  ePortfolio - I am going to help my oldest daughter start one to be used as a college resume and I am going to start one for my middle daughter to post all of her artwork that she wants us to keep.<br><strong>Podcast Rating: 4</strong><br>(1 = Not Helpful at all  - 5 = Extremely Helpful)<br><br></div>]]></description>

Code.org - Good program to expose students to coding.</div><div><strong>2.</strong>&nbsp; Coding Journals, Screencasting, and blogs as reflection tools and learning assessment. <br><strong>3.</strong>&nbsp; Helping Kids with Computer Coding - By: D.K. www.dk.com/coolcat - to find out more (Need this, because the podcast didn't help much.)<br><strong>Will Share:</strong><br><strong>1.</strong>&nbsp; Use blogs instead of journals for older students to reflect on learning, especially if they already have a device available for the lesson.&nbsp; Brilliant!<br><strong>2.</strong>&nbsp; Coding can be used to help with reading comprehension by having students code a skit that illustrates what happened in a book that they just read.&nbsp; (May try with my own child! - Would be nice <br><strong>Will try:<br>1.</strong>&nbsp; Code.org lessons so that I know what students are being exposed to and so that I am learning too!<br><strong>Podcast Rating: 2</strong> (Only because of the final blurb about dk.com.&nbsp; Otherwise I would have given it a 1)<br>(1 = Not Helpful at all&nbsp; - 5 = Extremely Helpful)<br><br></div>]]></description>
