This quote was from an article reporting experiences from dress codes violations. I never really thought about how much the violations affected the "perpetrators." Do dress code violations do more harm then help? It is understandable for dress code policy to be put into action when students wear clothing that depict hate speech, profanity, or illegal items, but dress code policies should not target people based on gender or race. Schools are the right venue to address this problem because a lot of what students learn in school stays with them for the rest of their life.
