The primary source that we use to live. Well, is this the all function of water? Isn’t water help other living things? Of course water is important for all living things, such as plants, humans, fish etc. But sometimes due to the bad air conditions, water freeze and cannot be used. Even so, fish and other living things under the water can live while the water is freezed. That’s because, in any case, only the top part of the water freezes. This is because of the insulation that the water made. In other words, because water is an insulator, cold air waves from outside only cover a part of the water. The reason why the frozen part of the water is on top is because the ice is denser than water and floats on the water. Density is dependent on the mass and the volume of an object. Think that, water completely freezes. This case would be very bad for the biodiversity which is the diversity of the living things in the nature. Fish and other species might be died or frozen, we can’t eat fish, and the balance of the world will be unavoidably difficult and bad.

This is so important. Because; When the sea freezes from the top of the sea, fish can be alive under the water. In water, there are different densities in different heights. Two factors which is affect density are; First one is the density of atoms in a given volume and the Second one is the change of the state of the matter. If the sea all freeze, all alive things which is under the sea would freeze. So, they would die. This negatively affects biodiversity because alive things are dying. So, fish number would decrease. Biodiversity is all alive thing’s all kinds. Animals, plants and people. But people’s buildings aren’t a part of biodiversity. If we have to give an example for biodiversity, I can tell Lake Baikal which is the biggest lake in the world. Lake Baikal’s top was frozen so alive things can live in there. In this lake, biodiversity is wonderful. As a result, it is very important that the water freezes from the top.

The water temperature gets warmer as its deeper because it gets more dens below. The fishes have omega 3 so its protected from the cold water temperature. In conlusion, water freezing the top of lakes is essential for fish to live during the winter season.

This lake is rich in terms of biodiversity, it has almost every kind of sea animal you can think of. The water is also very clean. But first of all, what is biodiversity? Well, biodiversity is the variety of life on Earth. This important to all creatures because even the smallest animal on this planet can make a huge difference whether if it is stopping the overpopulation of creatures or cleaning the environment.  Let's talk about a big factor of biodiversity especially in lakes, water. Water is not only a home for many sea creatures, but it is also a home for land creatures. Density plays a big role in this. As you know, two big factors changing density are; Mass (compared to volume) and heat. Any other liquid would get denser if it froze, but not with water. This is the reason why big chunks of ice above water ended up as a result of water freezing from top to bottom. If the water were to not freeze from top to bottom, biodiversity, especially in places near the poles, would be affected in a really negative way. Because when you think about it, many creatures live on these big ice chunks, Polar bears, penguins, and even sometimes Seals! If the water froze from bottom to top, not only would sea creatures run out of places to live for no reason, The land creatures would also have no place to live! Earth is truly a wonderful place, it is really interesting how everything is linked to each other.

Lake Baikal contains a large amount of the fresh water source of the world that is found on the surface.It also has more than 1000 amounts of plant species and more than 2500 animal species.It has a maximum depth of 1642m.It is the clearest and the oldest lake in the world.Most of the fish in the lake survives due to water freezing on top of the water.So they can survive.
