Miss Lupescu is my favorite character because she tries her best to be a teacher of Bod which contrasts to her real identity to be an Honor Guard. Also, she’s the one who cares for Bod and helps him when he falls in danger.

The character that I liked in the story is Mrs. Owens. Apart from the dark themes of the story, such as murder, horror, and scariness, this character of Mrs. Owens shows opposite moods, such as kindness, heartwarming, and mothering characteristics. As we can see, Mrs. Owens saw the toddler at the graveyard. Then, she has attempted to raise the toddler, named Bod, and promises to take care of this child with his mother. This shows that, even though she was a ghost, she was very kind and heartwarming.

And we like Silas, if there were no Silas, Bod wouldn't be able to live this long. He is the guardian who always helps Bod and protects him.

Liza Hempstock

Personally, I like character who have tragic backstory, and is still kind even though the world is cruel to him/her.

It’s true that Liza cursed the villagers who killed her, but she is kind to others who didn’t involve witch hunting. She is also the factor that make Bod had a character development.

One character that I like is Liza Hempstock. I like her because she is the character that cares and helps Bod even though she just knows Bod for a short time. She might think she is terrible for cursed people, but she is an ordinary person who is friendly to everyone good with her. Liza is actually a kind person.

My favorite character is Bod. He was a kid who had grown up in difficult environments. However, he was brave and kind towards new people. He was standing up for weaker people and that’s making him admirable.

In contrast, the characters that we don’t like are the ghouls because they are so tricky and deceitful. Also, Silas is so strict and bossy to Bod, we don’t like the way he control everything about Bod’s life.

We like Liza because she is a significant character in Chapter 4. She has goodwill for Bod with nothing in return. Even though she died with hurt and hatred in her heart, she was still a nice ghost to Bod by helping him to be invisible and escape from Abanazer. She is the important character that helps Bod develop himself to be braver when making decisions.

Jack is the character that we don’t like since he is the antagonist of the story by being the obstacle to Bod. He killed Bod’s family (humans) just because of his beliefs, and this action could make Bod suffer from family issues.

I like Scarlett because she is the only character who teaches Bod the way of the living human. I think she is a good friend.

My favorite character is Miss Lupescu, who teaches Bod. She seems to dictate Bod’s behavior too much, but she teaches him how to live. Also, she helps him.

Bod is our favorite character. He is curious to learn about the world both in the graveyard and beyond. This curiosity drives him to explore and seek knowledge. He is also brave. He faces many dangers and confronts his fears as he tries to uncover the mysteries of his past and protect those he cares about.
