It is evident that dogs that have their own feelings, not programmed ones, like a robotic dog. They are also safer than robotic dogs because they can't blow up, or mess up because of their coding.

In Source C, CHiP could only do things that the controller wants them to, and when the father couldn't find the slipper, a real dog could sniff it out in seconds, unlike the robotic one which only found it because of the ball. A real dog also has their own feelings, not programmed ones.
In Source D, the seals only lasted one hour, unlike a real dog who doesn't even need to recharge and can just go to sleep. Robotic pets can’t provide the same comfort or vast amount of  benefits of a real dog. Also, robotic pets aren't as reliable as actual pets. Sure their are divergent responsibilities of owning an actual pet, but nothing can compare the bond you build with an actual dog. Once you build that bond with your pet, you will start noticing the benefits it provides. Some benefits include, that they will keep you fit, teach young children responsibilities, and will keep you company. Therefore, actual pets are more reliable and beneficial than robot pets. Having an actual pet will make your money’s worth.
