This purchase of land caused a dilemma for Jefferson. His purchase allowed America to nearly double in size.</div>]]></description>

Muckraking exposed corruption in government which led to the purification of political figures. In 1906 lots of safety rules were put into place of factory workers, women, and public buildings. U-boat attacks on innocent American ships caused the US to join the war, the Zimmermann note, and the sinking of the Lusitania also promoted US war involvement. America did not fight directly in the war but supplied the allied powers and acted as a mediator when the war was over.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
