My plan will be to use Google Forms to collect my data. Since much of my data will be qualitative, as I will be asking questions of teachers to gain insight into their experience, Google Forms will allow me to format the questions to gather both free-response and selections from multiple choices. Then, my form will be translated into Google Sheets for easier data analysis.

--Becca Person

While completing my action research proposal I will be collecting a variety of information. For most of this information I will use Xcel. Xcel will allow me to create different charts to see the number of times disruptions take place each week. This will allow me to easily monitor progress and if classroom disruptions start to decrease.

I will also take observation notes in a notebook and then log them in a Word or Google Document for connivence.

Nicole Stevens

While completing my action research proposal I will be utilizing several different Google platforms. I will be using Google forms for my student questionnaires/surveys and Google Sheets to organize my data and create visuals to see any available growth/progression.

I will also be writing notes onto paper while observing/working with students and then transfer the into a working document.

Sarah Stusse

I will be using Google Forms to create surveys for my students. In addition, I will be using the Stamp 4S test that will be given to my students to assess their proficiency levels twice in the year. This will be compared to the scores of other middle school students after using 2 different methods of foreign language instruction (traditional grammar instruction & TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading & Storytelling)). I will also be implementing a Likert scale survey to check preference of methods from my students. All of the data will be collected in a spreadsheet - likely Google Sheets, numbered, and analyzed to find mean, mode, and median. I think the coding will be fairly simple since there won't be many data points to collect.

Grace Osterbauer

In order to collect data I will be using Exit Ticket to track and compare the scores of two different classes that will be using to different teaching methods to achieve mastery on a standard. Then I will create a histogram chart to track which strategies worked best within these standards. I will then take an anonymous survey from each student to gain information on student well being/comfort/and happiness in each of their classes. In addition I will be taking notes to get a gauge on student engagement and behavior management within each class.

~Serena Roche

My action research proposal is about building independent learning through self-efficacy and intrinsic motivation. I will use the Academic Motivation Scale which is a self-reporting tool. I will also conduct a class activity before and after my implementation to determine how well students learn new material and to what extent they are able to initiate use of resources on their own. Furthermore, I will also use students' star testing results to correlate the former outcomes with academic success.

Clark Taynton
