  Even though their parents are not the best they have shown their children to be hardworking people. And it seems like they have learned and will apply it in the future, and even to improve.

  I think back then there was no need for school, probably today is it a little more necessary because of the advances the world has made it has became more difficult to survive with only daily basis now. But their's nothing more("better") than the love and education our parents can give us.

  Education:

  I think they receive a great education. Even though it is not perfect, it is the best way you can raise your kids. They receive enough teachings on their daily basis. Learning how to earn their own money, to protect themselves or each other. To survive on their own, and to make a living more easily. In my opinion that is more than enough to survive without resenting certain changes in life that may come in the future. To open yourself paths to be a very successful person.Whithout having to depend on anyone.

  ~1. Jeannette liked to cook, mostly hot dogs. One day when she was at the hospital after being burned while cooking some hot dogs, she said "I would have been happy staying in that hospital forever" She felt very well cared for and attended those days. She had everything she never had before.(In her opinion/ point of view).

1. What tone and mood are created at various parts of the work? Their mood is all different from each other especially different from their dad. Even though their life isn't very satisfying to all of them, at the same time they enjoy being happy with her wild life. Which describes the story a little dark on most occasions.

2. How does the writer's diction (word choice) reveal or reflect the work's meaning? It reflects their mood, like when Jeannette's dad is mad at them or how they are feeling in any situation they are facing.

3. Is there a relationship between the beginning and the end of the story? There's not really a relationship yet, but as we continue it seems like their children will be successful people as it mentions in the beginning.

When Jeannette was at Billy's house, they started to talk about their fathers and they were but Billy started talking bad about Jeannette, she got mad and hated him in that moment, and when she was heading out she yelled, "My daddy is nothing like your daddy!"(Walls 83). Justifying that they are not the same at all. Jeannette hated when other people would start talking bad about her family, she loved them all. Oh I love this quote, it's beautiful how she reacts to Billy when he was talking bad about Rex, because even though he is not a perfect parent or even husband Jeannette will love and defend him forever:).And wonderful how they are all one team, supporting one another however they could.

It's interesting how they are so together as a family. They all have their back. I remember that sometimes when I was crying and my mom use to come over and talk with me that I felt so much better and at some point I understand Jeannette's difficulties as well. And it really reminds me of me and my family witch I go back to and about it. Of how those experiences were and that they will never come back.

I am thankful to not relate to Jeannette's situation or childhood while growing up. However it is good to be aware of our reality and that unfortunately there are innocent children who suffer as consequences of their parents' irresponability.

Culture is the main component to the formation of a person beginning since childhood. Certain cultures lack education necessary that lead to men to becoming irresponsible. Sometimes they are taught that they have the final say, therefore, whatever they do they can get away with. Like in this case, Rex can drink excessively and go missing for days without worrying if his kids have been fed.

1. When Jeannette was talking with Rose about Erma's behavior Rose said , "You should never hate anyone, even your worst enemies". "Everyone has something good about them". (Walls 144). Explaining that she had to find the redeeming quality and love the person had. It's good to not have enemies, because eventually they could bring you problems or something similar. That way you don't have to be worrying about someone who might wanna trip you and make you lose time.

1. How do economic conditions determine the characters' life?

   As a child, Jeannette is completely dependent on her parents. Her parents' negative financial decisions determine her family stability including herself. Their lack of money leads them to not enough food and basic survival essentials, only making the children struggle with poverty.

What roles do psychological disorders and dreams play in the story?

The father is a compulsive drinker that doesn't care about his family's well being. Jeannette's dreams are being pulled back because of his fathers behavior. The situation Jeannette is in, has caused her to think that it is mom's fault for how dad is doing, because she thinks mom can't manage him well. And it's not only her fault. Since dad knows Jeannette's weak side that is, to stand up and speak straight with dad, so she doesn't do it. Instead she goes and complains to her mother.
