We'd talk about their answers then I'd model how to answer the question by indicating the key words that the students should identify.

In other instances, I'd have other students verify other students' answers and provide justification for their response.

E Hyacinth

Even within my tiny trailer, I have tried to make my desk into groups because of the valuable takeaways students can get from each other. For reading guides, students are told they can work with each other and contribute to one another's worksheets. I walk around consistently through my classes and make sure they are discussing answers and talking through questions. I recently assigned a podcast assignment where students will be in groups of 2-3 creating a podcast on Emperor Asoka and his impact on Buddhism. They are all expected to talk within the podcast and I help as much as I can with the process but this will lead into the you do portion of gradual release.

-Reece

Specially to reinforce grammar topics, what we do is that I call students, sometimes randomly but specially to those ones who struggles the most. A group of 4-5 comes to my big table and we all do together a practice or answer questions meanwhile the others work in their assignments. This way I can see how they are feeling or ir they need more support.

K Barahona
