The band Imagine Dragons has been on the road since 2008 playing an indie rock. It all started when Dan Reynolds met former member Andrew Tolman in Las Vegas, United States. After meeting at the university, the musicians decided, in the same year, to release an EP that bore the name of the group. Hell and Silence EP, hit stores in 2010, both were recorded at Battle Born Studios. In 2011, they released the It's Time EP, and soon after signed a recording contract with Interscope Records. The band's name is an anagram, according to guitarist Wayne Sermon: "We had this phrase, but we didn't want to call the band that, so we agreed to change the lyrics and imagine dragons came up. We didn't even tell our mothers what the phrase was. As an artist you put so much of yourself out, that it's fun to have some that you keep secret." The first major appearance came when the band's lead singer Train fell ill just before the Bite of Las Vegas Festival 2010 and then Imagine Dragons was invited to fill the lineup, performing for a crowd of more than 26,000 people. At this time, they won several local awards, including "Best CD of 2011" (Las Vegas SEVEN Magazine), "Best local Indie Band 2010" (Las Vegas Weekly), among others that led the band to a positive trajectory.
