This would be a student manipulating or being active in a classroom to get different task done in which I see a lot of times while I'm in class. One way that this was done in my class was that I was taking a class were it required active participation to get the assignment done but instead of two students following the rules that were given on the assignment they decided to just do the experiment themselves (Chemistry) and they made up their own rules as they went, it turned out to be successful but it took them extra time because of the extra steps they did that really were not required.

I believe everybody has done this in the classroom and it could be simply your teacher asking you to write a paragraph on what you learned that day and to turn it in. This is a good way for students because if they didn't understand something correctly they could put it in their paragraph and when the teacher went to read it, they could review the material for the students safety. Another example would be to reflect as a group on things by maybe taking a quiz after the teacher has finished a lesson which I find is very effective.

Everyone has done this in their class, one of my classes actually have us do group work every time we meet even if its just a discussion in a small group. I think this is a good way for students to learn because not only are they learning from their teachers but they are getting different inputs from students their age on why they may feel that way about a certain topic. Another example would be to collaborate as a class to discussion something because in my English class we took 15 minutes at the beginning of class to talk about our previous chapter we had to read.

This has been used in the classroom before and a example of this would be if your teacher told you to think about a time you were in a certain situation. Or even just having them apply the scenarios outside of the classroom in your real life to get a better understanding. This is a good thing to do because I believe it would help the student understand better if they were given real life scenario's.

I actually am goal directed in all of my classes simply because everyday i know I want to learn three things that I didn't know from the previous class and in order to do this I make KWL charts which is "What I know" about the particular subject "What I want to Know" and "What I learned". When you have a goal set in place this could help simply because if your teacher doesn't answer the question while teaching you could ask her and get clarification, in which it would help you complete any goal you have set. Another time when I was goal directed was maybe in elementary school the teacher used to have different goals of what we were going to complete that day to keep us on track.
