1. What prevented me from getting a higher grade?
I feel that what prevented me from getting a higher grade is my language component. I had quite a few grammar errors and used only simple vocabulary. I made some grammar mistakes like word order, word choice and subject verb agreement. My vocabulary used was a little too shallow for my age. These greatly affected my English results.
2. What can I do to do better?
Grammar takes time to improve and I will continue to practise with my editing book. For my vocabulary, I will try my best to read more books and make use of ambitious vocabulary. I will also do more vocabulary practises when I am free.
3. How do I feel about my first grade for English? (200 words)
When I received my first grade for English, I had mixed emotions. I was feeling a little disappointed at first as I expected higher grades for myself and failed to reach my targets. My target for the weighted assessment is B3 but I only got B4.I went through my paper and realised a few careless mistakes that I should not have made. This made me feel very depressed and feel that I disappointed myself and should have worked harder for the weighted assessment. I was blaming myself for not studying hard enough for my English which caused my failure to achieve my goals. However, after a few more minutes, after I calmed down, I realised that I actually improved on my weighted assessment one this year when I compared it to my weighted assessment one last year. I thought positively and saw this as an opportunity for me to find out my weaknesses in writing. My unexpected English results actually made me know what I should actually improve on for the subject. This can prevent me from wasting more time on other components that I perform better in and I can put more focus on my weaknesses. Despite not being able to reach my target, I will not give up in the subject and will continue to try my very best in the subject.

During the March holidays, I am finally free and have the time to go out with my friend. We went to Haji Lane near Bugis and Jurong East. During that week, Taylor Swift was in Singapore and the entire Haji Lane was blasting Taylor Swift music and had many Taylor Swift themed photo booths. To capture our memories together, my friend and I went to an elevator themed Photo Booth and took photos together. Afterwards, we went to try out some of the very popular desserts located at Haji Lane. We bought açai and honey comb ice cream. As dessert lovers we finished both very quickly. Later in the day, we went to Jurong East to try bingsu.

P: I would not be keen to pick up an extreme sport.
E: An extreme sport is way too dangerous, I do not want to risk my own life just for high levels of adrenaline for a tiny period of time. We only live once, we should cherish our own life and not expose ourselves to such great danger just for fun. We should do more meaningful things when we have the chance to, instead of being foolish and try unsafe activities.
E: A research conducted from 2011 to 2017 found out that more than 200 people lost their lives to an extreme sport called roof topping. This shows that extreme sports are life threatening and one tiny mistake will lead to death.
L: Hence, I am not keen to pick up an extreme sport.

This resulted in a huge injury on my knee and even daily activities like climbing up stairs became a challenge. However, I still ran for my napfa and passed.
