Tailoring your lessons and activities to fit the "Culture", or area, that you are teaching in. For example, a government teacher in a school with a high Hispanic population would include more lessons that teach the students about legislation that has benefited, and hurt, Hispanic people. In addition, you would also want to add more lessons on Civic Participation. In the United States, the Hispanic population has the lowest percentage of voters on average. A teacher could change this by assigning these students activities that would simulate involvement in civic life.

A way of curating your class to align with the cultures that make up a classroom. I think sometimes people don't consider that this goes beyond race and language, it includes lifestyles too. It is important because education is an inclusive practice and students and teachers ought to feel and BELIEVE they are tolerated and included, but can also see themselves in the world as everyone else sees the world.

Its not just jumping in and teaching, its purposefully getting to know your classroom and student backgrounds and then moving to teaching with this information in mind. This creates classroom community and a positive learning environment where all students feel like they belong
