Ms. Walton "STEAMed up" her farm animal unit today by started out her lesson with SOS 3 truths and a lie (modified it for only 2 truths for kindergarten). Then she read the book Farm Animals and discussed the purposes of each animal on the farm. After, students worked in collaborative groups to create a poster each about a different farm animal. And she finished off by watching a Discovery Ed video about a child that lives on a farm and, as each animal was highlighted in the video, she did SOS Pause and Play, and had a student from the group that drew the picture of that animal stand up and share about that animal. Students were excited to be connections about farm animals in this multimodal lesson!
