Possibly change the background colour to white to make the effective colors pop more from your image

Also really go into the target market and talk about who you are trying to draw in to your space

You could instead of the birds change them to brush strokes to make it less literal but still has a Japanese feel.

Look into materials and textures- relate it back to the feeling of escapism.

I like the road curves and the natural element of stone which is featured in Koto design

I feel the negative space aspect is good and should be carried out. Texture can be added to create more depth. I feel there could be a stronger link to research of the South American culture.

overall I think it this is properly good and a lot can be taken from it.

You could incorporate your ideas about reflection in your concept and the ideas about depending where you look, nature is present. think also about how you can use texture for materiality later down the line.

To develop the concept some more and be more creative with it as it is a bit literal and obvious to the scenic imagery outside a cabin. Maybe play with the spherical and square shapes to gain a unique image

i feel you could add in the sense of layers and layering as this is seen in nature in many forms but also can be seen with the making of cabins with materials found to form a cabin.

Some really strong research ideas such as materiality which most people haven't touched on as deeply so definitely should keep and develop more

Maybe play on the lungs and aspect of breathing life into your body and an artisan breathing life into their creations

Look into topographic architecture - the principle is based on building around existing natural elements to achieve that sense of being outside from within.

Consider playing with the idea of finding perfection within imperfection.

With your ideas regarding technology - consider how new technology has aided sustainability (perhaps in creating materials) rather than the disconnect it causes from nature

Try not to think of design elements before you have your concept image and tagline done. This could limit you.

pick out key elements that stick out to you and merge different words to develop a tagline. Perhaps translate words into Japanese to enhance how you gravitate towards Japanese cabins.

To develop a concept image from this perhaps do more research into your chosen tag line words.

Research seems like you’ve gone into detail with lots of annotations and evaluations, however now I believe you need more specific research on your desired look to finalise the concept image.

Talking about green… which green shade? All green monochrome? Fantasy has lots of green but splashes of vibrant pinks and reds. Do you like this or will you mute the fantasy fusion to meet target market of koto?

I think maybe explain more about why you chose the fungi? why you choose iris flower? this will just strengthen your concept!

self-expression- linking to cultures and foods for the kitchen.... maybe research in how different cultures use kitchens and how they differ from others, how can you combine the experience of the culture to fit a multicultural client.

Light and dark to create airy atmosphere during day, but light working to create a dark/moody atmosphere during the evenings.

Escapism, light at the end of the tunnel, but dark when you are in the tunnel.

I think research more about how you can create an inclusive atmosphere for example the types of utilities used in a bathroom and kitchen or how to make an atmosphere feel more inclusive.

I think you should have that element as a USP however maybe find a way to link koto design model more as i feel you are re-creating the brand instead of adding to the existing.

This was a really great idea, make sure you tie it in to your tagline as well as some of your other ideas.

It seems a little disjointed at the moment, so just work on that. Everything was really well explained though.

Why the moody look and not bright and airy botanical, why have you decided on this? An aesthetic answer isn't strong enough to be valid, so get evidence to support your decision.

Look at rejvination and how interior can create that atmosphere

Colour and texture could also be something that you could think about for nostalgia. This could then be brought out into the concept image.

instead of how this is nostalgic for YOU ie your memory- what exactly is the feeling of nostalgia? how does it make you act and think?

In order to develop your concept I think changing the background colour was a good contribution, as it will definitely help to draw more attention to the actual image.
