Pear Deck offers a variety of ways to elevate your Google Slides. This add-on includes the ability to ask students questions along the way of a presentation. You can have students give written responses, answer multiple choice questions, pick a number, or visit a website all in the free version. If you pay the premium fee, or take advantage of the free trial, you can also have students draw images or drag an object. All of these tools can provide checks with your students to either count for participation or see what you need to review again as a teacher.

Insert Learning gives teachers a way to ask students questions while they work through a website. This could be a discussion post, multiple choice questions, and long answer. The teacher is also able to post sticky notes that could possibly give students background information while they are reading. A teacher can also highlight important pieces of information that they want the students to take note of for an end discussion. Once you create a class, you can add your students and assign the reading directly to them. You can also browse documents that other teachers have worked on and shared.

Class Dojo offers a great way to communicate what is happening in your classroom to others. A feed can post pictures of activities happening in the classroom or upcoming assignments due. You can connect the parents to the online classroom so they also know what is happening at school without the need to send a note home that will most certainly get lost on the way. You can give students feedback as they go and it adds fun elements in like hatching a monster if they log in at home. This tool would be best for younger grades as it is a little childish with some of its aspects.

Another tool great for elementary students that tracks a students progress by displaying their work. The activities they complete can be posted into their portfolio, and it can also auto-grade for the teacher. You can add family members so they can see what their child is completing both in and out of school. A bonus to SeeSaw is that it actually has some ready to go curriculum that a school could utilize. The students are always hands-on with the activities and the teacher can monitor their progress while they are working on it. The visible learning allows for easy progress monitoring that is accurate.
