The poem "Fingernails" speaks to me because in a way, I can relate to how Hong Kong may feel because Vietnam is a communist nation that has a limit to the amount of free speech and a person can practice. The topics of freedom and independence is portrayed in "fingernails." Even more, my father, escaping a communist country has stories of the oppression of the government.

I chose this song due to the mention of financial struggles he faced, violence, and the aspects of their hood. It illustrates the difference in financial classes and how it plays into discrimination.

Like allusions, imagery also meets the demands of central ideas sufficiently, meeting the goal of the idea staying within the audience for a long time.
