During the 1800s there were many abolitionists, one of the most infamous abolitionists is John Brown. He believed that slavery was wrong and the only way to get rid of slavery was through violence. In 1859, John Brown led a raid at the town of Harpers Ferry in order to start a rebel. Unlike he thought though, none of the slaves followed his actions during the raid because of the risk. The attacked failed and he was accused of treason. He was executed for treason. His actions are debated on whether they were logical or useless.
