I chose this picture because this teddy bear is related to a charity. A man came in our shop before Easter to ask us if we could clean this teddy for charity. Mostly we avoid doing this type of work because it takes too much time to clean it, but we did that job just because it was for charity. We didn't even charge them a penny, because they were going to collect donations for orphaned children. The man was very happy and after Easter he came back to our shop with a thank you card.

Silicone Ice Lolly Mould

Every family has many objects that are used by family members.
Today I want to tell you about this silicone mould for making ice cream; I have used this object for two years.
My children love ice cream so I wanted to buy an ice cream maker but it was expensive and my house needs more essential things than it.
In 2020, I was at the supermarket and I saw the silicone mould which was cheap, easy to clean and easy and safe to use. When you buy it you will get the wooden lollipop sticks. You can easily insert the stick and pour in the liquid you made earlier ( you can mix milk with chocolate or coconut or fruit to make this liquid) then put the mould in the freezer. Now enjoy your own healthy ice cream and at the same time spend an amazing time with your family.

I took this photo in the evening walking with friends. One of my favourite places in the centre of Coventry is the Cathedral. This place is full of mysteries. When you arrive there, you get the feeling that you are in the Middle Ages, which still meet us. A place where it is always quiet and you can be alone with your thoughts and desires.

I took this photo about two years ago in my home. I live in a small apartment and have several pairs of shoes in every closet. I had no idea exactly how many shoes I had until one day I decided to clean them and rearrange them. When I arranged all the shoes on the ground I was surprised and found that I am addicted to buying shoes.
unfortunately, after this photo I didn't stop buying shoes and now they are quite a lot more, the truth is that I'm afraid to do another count now. When I want a new pair of shoes I always think about Carrie Bradshaw’s words who was played by Sarah Jessica Parker "I like to invest my money where I can see them - in my closet and on my feet". I always will be “shoeslover”.

Spa Ritual

One of my favourite rituals!
I do a little spa at home every week, sometimes I even do it more than once.
It is time I dedicate to myself and it's important for me to do it. To get the desired effect, I light a lot of scented candles, fill the bathtub with hot water, add bath salts, bath foam and essential oils. I take a glass of white wine or champagne and put some fruit in it, sometimes I also take a bowl of strawberries or mango, my favourite fruits, because to be honest, warm water makes me really hungry. I play soft music and read a romance novel. The atmosphere in my bathroom helps me and I really get carried away in the plot of the book I'm reading. I spend hours in the bath until the water gets cold. I am glad that my partner respects my rituals and doesn’t disturb me.

I chose this artistic picture hung up in my living room in Coventry, because it is very significant for me, I like it, it reminds me of two things.
Firstly, it reminds me of my culture: it is a traditional weapon our army used when they went into battle, they used a shield for protecting themselves from the enemy and a spear for fighting.
Secondly, it reminds me of my daughter who sent it to me, whenever I look at it I feel her presence in me and in my house.

It's a yellow orchid that my cousin gave me, I really love these flowers because when I moved to Coventry it was the first gift in my first house even though I was renting and I always take care of it. This is the first photo I took when I moved to Coventry. It was November of 2019 and I loved the cathedral. It is my favourite place and I was enchanted with it. It is so majestic and every time I go into the city centre I go there. It also gives me a sense of tranquillity.

I chose the Adult Education Service. l found it on the wall of the Muslim Resource Centre in Coventry. It is a blue and white rectangle with white writing above it. It has a logo of the council in the corner. I chose this as the name suggests that the "Adult Education Service" is very important for adults. It provides part-time courses and learning opportunities for adults. I found an advert in a magzine leaflet at home. I started the classes on 20th September 2022. In this class there's a lot of learning. I joined this class to improve my English language because I want to do a teaching course.

This is my birthday party during lockdown!
The place is right next to my previous home, it is smaller than the park but I really love it. I have feelings for this place because when I moved to live in Coventry it was summer and I spent a lot of time in this meadow. My birthday is in April; there was a ban on gathering indoors and meeting more than four people, so I decided to celebrate with my partner and a friend in this small park. The weather was great, we drank champagne and I really had a good time despite everything.

I made this cake today. It is called Raffaello because the taste is the same as the Raffaello chocolates, although it is tastier. I don't usually eat sweets, but many years ago my cousin's wife, who is a professional chef, made a cake like this. I was really impressed with the taste. Yesterday my partner had bought a pack of Raffaello chocolates and after eating the whole box he decided he could eat a few more. That’s why today I asked my cousin's wife for the recipe and spent several hours shopping and making the cake. When my partner came home I greeted him with the cake and the words: “All yours!”. He was shocked because the cake is huge, but we have to be careful what we wish for!

I chose green nature. I found it at Greyfriars Green which is in Coventry City Centre, next to the Theory Test Centre. I saw the beautiful and wonderful multi-coloured flowers that dazzle everyone, which are located in the middle of the green grass and interspersed with pedestrian paths to the train station on the one hand and to the city centre on the other. I chose this scene because it is very lively. And when you sit in this place, you feel comfortable psychologically.

It is the most wonderful place for me in Coventry, I love it very much, because I found myself in it. It is a place to improve your English, develop your experiences and guide you on the best ways to integrate into society, make new friends, and discover the world around you. There is a sense of safety because they respect you, whatever your language or culture. Your nationality, your religion, your studies, even if you do not know one letter, they work very hard and encourage you to learn and develop your talents that you love and that you could not practise before.

This is the place that gives you the opportunity to start over and repair yourself after you were shattered on the way to escape from war to sanctuary after you became a refugee who does not know what his fate is and what awaits him in this new life in this city. It is your place, the safe sanctuary where you can speak freely and express all your opinions without fear, because there is no racism or hatred, everyone cooperates with love for the success of the group and the projects that it undertakes sometimes.

Being there with them in this place gave me more experiences and my self-confidence increased and I started writing more poems. They even encouraged me to write stories, so I wrote a short story for children and I recorded it with my own voice on the Podbean application.

This place helped me and gave me an opportunity to raise my voice and recite poetry in the cathedral in front of a large audience in my mother language and in Swanswell Park and I participated in the procession. It was a big event, we received Amal the little refugee. I participated in it with love and pleasure. The BBC channel, TV and radio, also did an interview with me and they asked me to read my poem to them in Kurdish and English. Yes, it was a wonderful success after hard work.

This place has become a part of me and I feel lost if I am away from it. Because I have just found myself since I came to know this place, and I feel a sense of belonging to it, as it is one of the reasons for my strength and progress, and I had a healing for the soul that gave me great positive energy. Thank you very much, Belgrade Theatre, I am very grateful to you, as you are a symbol of Coventry, symbols of love and a safe sanctuary for all refugees.

My Garden

I like my garden; it's quite a big sized garden. There are some nice flowers and trees; it looks beautiful in the summer time. Me and my family spend so much time in the garden, especially in the summer. We have BBQs in the garden. My children are so happy and they enjoy the times me and my family have lunch in the garden. My children spend so much time in the garden. There is a trampoline; my children are happy to play on the trampoline. There is so much fun - we love our garden!

My daughter collected flowers wherever she went. She gave some to all my friends and all her friends.
That day she had collected them for her dad.

I chose my Christmas tree because it made my house beautiful. I put it in the corner because my kids played with it. A Christmas tree is an artificial tree that looks like a fir tree. People put them in their homes at Christmas and decorate them with coloured baubles and lights. Every year we decorate our house with a Christmas tree.

We went to the city centre. We went in the afternoon and my son loved the water fountains. I loved it too because this place is beautiful and is in front of many shops, for example Holland & Barratt and JD Sports. My kids played in the water fountains. We enjoyed watching them play; I saw my child and many other children playing in the water. We stayed around two hours and afterwards my kids asked to go to McDonald's. We went to McDonald's and I ordered food for me and my kids. My kids were very happy, so the day was happy.

This building is located in Coventry and was built a 1000 years ago, and this church is the third cathedral that was built a 1000 years ago.
This church was bombed in 1940 on the 14th of November and the church burned down. A day after the fire, the church was rebuilt.
I enjoy the atmosphere of this church and I like this place very much and this is the best place for photography and tourists visiting this city.

Today I will tell you about my favourite plant, the name of this plant is Bonsai. What is the meaning of Bonsai? The word Bonsai is a Japanese term that consists of two parts, sai means planting, and bon meaning a tray or a shallow pot. The meaning of bonsai is this: the plant is planted in a shallow pot.
The bonsai plant was created in China 2,300 years ago. They believed that by doing this, they could bring a piece of nature into their homes in a smaller size.
I bought a bonsai last year and after a few months its leaves fell off and it turned into a small and beautiful dry tree. I did not despair and watered it in the sun behind the window once a week and it was still sleeping until a month ago when it sprouted again and I saw that it came back to life. Every day I wait for it to become a small tree with leaves and be more and more fresh.

Chose a big teddy bear
How big it was ! It looked beautiful
Asked someone how to clean it
Really it made my day.
Interesting the face was so big.
Took a picture to show my friends,
Yellow teddy was beautiful and heavy.

Took its shoes, were also large.
Eyes were big and shiny,
Dots made it funny.
Duty to wash it, also heavy,
Yellow teddy bear, beautiful and heavy.

Best thing we have done for donations
Everything for orphaned children's foundation.
Asked the man about the price
Really! Zero!! Donation was nice.

Red Roses

I have planted a red rose in my back garden.

I have looked after the rose and it has grown taller.

When it is in season the roses bloom and are very red.

I want to plant more roses in my garden with different colours, but red is my favourite.
