  • Moriarty met his fate when he falls during a fight to the death with Sherlock Holmes at the Reichenbach Falls in Switzerland on the 4th of May, 1891. Holmes was injured in this fall as well, but ends up surviving, which was talked about in the story "The Adventure of the Empty House" in 1903.
