They are our role models and they can influence the entire team. They are involved in the decision making process, so they understand the vision and mission of the organization. If they are part of Advancement they can lay a perfect foundation which the team can later take it forward. Without the leaders, we may feel Advancement is just the role of a few people in the organization and not the entire team.

Just like an entry and exit of every small character on stage can impact the entire play, similarly everyone's contribution helps to design the advancement of the school. 
Everyone's story is important, and we should all take the initiative to tell our story. If it falls only on the leader, it becomes a one man/woman show. 
Leaders need to help make new leaders.
