My business is designed to work with middle aged kids and adolescents with mental health issues, specifically depression. We address the hygiene issues that can come from having this condition. Some of the services that we provide include education on hygiene and explaining the importance of it, exploration of different hygiene products so they can figure out what kind of products they would like to use, we also help the child create a self-care routine that they can decorate and make their own, and we also provide the caregivers and parents with strategies and tools that they can use to help encourage and support their child at home during this process.

The Mission of the Self-care society is to help children and adolescents overcome hygiene challenges that can come with having depression and we help build up their self-esteem. By creating a safe and non-judgmental space we strive to better the child's physical and emotional well-being.

Some of the strengths of my business include personalized services that will meet the needs for each child, we provide a safe and nonjudgmental space which will help the child learn and develop healthy hygiene habits that will promote long term success, and we do our interventions at the school so transportation won’t be a barrier to getting access to our services. Some of the weaknesses include the rate at which my business will grow because some people may not understand the importance of it. Schools may not want to pay for my services and getting insurance to pay for it could be a challenge as well. A threat that I will encounter is competition from other businesses that can offer more in-depth services than me. Opportunities that I will encounter include making connections with schools, counselors, and community organizations

My budget and financial plan will include tracking expenses such as travel, the materials I use for my interventions, the amount of money I spend on marketing my business and liability insurance. To make a profit I will charge the school a flat fee for a set number of sessions I will provide each month, and I will require mileage reimbursement. I will track money that is coming in and out and start off my business with a smaller number of caseloads and gradually increase it as the business grows both finically and capacity.

The things I will continue to monitor include the progress that the clients are making, retention rates, and feedback from both parents and child.
