I’m really struggling with stress and about to be kicked off my degree. It’s really upsetting as I want to finish my politics degree. Here is my journey. I like learning but I struggled in high school. My parents divorced the year before my standard grades and it was a mess. I was always fighting with my mum, and at one point ran away. Which meant more mess. I didn’t do well in my exams. I was unemployed for a bit, but then got a job in ASDA. One of my old teachers was a regular customer and always stopped to chat. She changed my life – helping me get a place at college. Things at home were better and this felt like a new start for me. I could walk from home, had a good group of friends and our teachers were amazing. I loved the classes and after getting a talk from UWS one of my teachers helped me with the application. I got lots of help understanding the university and the degree, and one of the lecturers spent time with me too. This really helped and made me feel like they wanted me there.
