1. In my opinion this subject is very important to secure our food and rare because only in UMK had this subject. I think it is a good idea made this subject so after this our food in Malaysia will be more secure and less the number of import food.

As for me, this is my new experience on learning food security subject. By this subject, I gained new knowledge regarding field of food security. On top of that, this subject also give me exposure and boosting my concern on food security status in this world especially for our country, Malaysia.

The notes that been given by both of lecturer are so helpful and attractive for me. However, some parts make me confused and require each of us to elaborate all the points by ourselves.

Each of lecturers (Prof Luqman and Dr Maryana) have their own way of teaching. They are so committed on giving lecture to us. Some part are serious and also some part are relaxing. Again, thank you so much.

- Since this is the real subject for our course, I can see that this subject not only requires theoretical readings taught in the classroom, but students are also encouraged to search thru internet etc for the latest information on what is happening at our country's food source and throughout world.

Notes
- The notes given are helpful to the students as well but as I mentioned earlier, students need more reading for instance from web article or reading materials, and the lecturer had also said last time that we have no lab session and only provide tutorials which is actually not enough for students to visualize of what are the issues in food security that arise and being discussed.

Lecturers
- What can I say is that both lecturers do not just teach in the class based on slides only but we are also exposed about the global issues occur currently.

- This is the first time i heard about food security subject. At first, i dont really know deeply about this subject . I thought it is same as other subject such as food science, food safety or food technology. But this subject is very important among the other subject. In my opinion, this subject is to encourage us to keep the continuous food supply in our country esp Malaysia. To avoid the hunger percentage increases, ensure the good quality and improve the safety of food.

2. Notes
- Both notes from Prof Lukman and Dr Maryana help us to understand the food security . The notes are not so complete because we as student must have to find the more information through journal or article by ourselves. Usually final’s questions are not much can find in notes .we need to think further .more thinking outside of the box.

3. Lecturer
- Both lecturers, Prof Lukman and Dr Maryana have their own way in teaching. I am more satisfied with the way of Dr Maryana teaching .maybe because Dr Maryana teach in dwibahasa, Malay and English. Both lecturers are very good in teaching

1) This subject open up my mind about food security here in Malaysia and also any other part of the country. It teaches me that we should always be prepared in order to face something big in the future, for the humanity. This subject shows me that it’s not easy to maintain, sustain and even increase the amount of food that we need . 2) The notes given by the lecturer are helpful . But it’s quiet confusing at some part . We have to do a lot of reading in order to understand more about this subject .

3) Dr Maryana way of teaching is so good and understandable. And she always provide us with new important information and from there we know what to do in order to gain more knowledge about the topic she talked about . Prof is more strictful but relax and require us to think outside the box , so from there we know that we should read a lot. Both lecturer are a very good in teaching and they’re good .

My opinion for the subject is students will understand more about the purpose of why they are taking food security course. We need to have more fieldtrip so that the students can remember well on practical instead of listening to lecturer babbling.

Next for the notes, might want to improve a little bit more. Try to teach students on how to answer in final exam instead of talking about other matters which I think it is out of topic.

Lastly, lecturer, having a lot of information was good. If it was related to the subject, not other things. Being funny is good but need to be careful on what you will be saying.

First of all, this is a new experience for me to learn and understand Food Security which is my course about. with all the assignments, i tend to read quite a lot of food security and insecurity articles and that helps me a lot to understand more bout this subject. so, this subject is very good in this course.

2. As for the notes given is very helpful for me. but, if some of those notes can be more attractive that should be very nice. but indeed its already be so helpful.

3. Both lecturers (Prof. Lukman and Dr. Maryana) got their own ways in delivering their lecturers. Here is my opinion on
1. Subject
When I first introduced this subject, actually I have no idea on what it is about. After I have a deeper understand on this subject, I realise that food security is actually a good subject. It teaches us on how it is important to secure the people with food, especially those who are poor, no matter in a region, city or a nation. There are large proportion of people in the world suffering from chronic hunger and malnutrition due to several reason. Hunger is actually a kind of suffering that may be not a major problem for the people come from first class and middle class that they may not realise more about it. After learning this subject, we learnt to appreciate food and don't waste it, thinking on those who are insecured with food and suffering from hunger. In spite of that, this subject teaches us on the importance to eat healthy foods. Processed foods and western meals are not liked by our body and will eventually expose us to the risk of suffering cancer and other diseases. We have learnt to eat healthily and prevent ourselves from overnutrition.

2. Notes
The notes given are actually helpful to us. The information given are complete and easily understand for us and all of them are taught during the lecture. The notes given have a clear explanation on each topic. But, seems that this subject has a wide range of knowledge and may not be found in the notes and covered during the lecture. This knowledge depends on our effort to discover more about it. For the sake of the students, it is recommended to upload the notes on time in ecomm that students can have an earlier access to them and have a better preparation for the test on the subject. Also, the syllabus of the questions that come out during the exam hopes to be from the notes, so that the students can answer well in the exam and their hard work on memorising the notes can be paid off.

3.Lecturer
Dr. Maryana has a clear explanation on the notes that she has given. It's interesting to be in her lectures that she will teach more on the current issues that what she taught is not just limited in the lecture notes. Also, it is good that her kind of teaching is not just reading on the lecture notes. Instead, she has her own kind of explanation on each topics and has interaction with the students in the class also. We can pay attention well during her lectures and wouldn't feel so bored. A lot of extra knowledge can be learnt during her lectures. Besides, she is responsible that she will upload her notes in time that the students can refer to right after her class and no need to wait for so long time. Dr Maryana is good that she will concern on the student's performance during the exam as the syllabus of the subject is too wide that the students may get a lower mark in this subject, causing the pointer to drop. Finally there is lecturer that understand the uneasiness of the students.

Instead, we can learn lot of extra knowledge during the lecture class. She has her own kind of explanation on each topic and tend to give us the examples found in reality that we can understand better on what she try to teach. We wouldn't feel bored during her lectures. In spite of that, she uploads notes in time that the students can refer to right after her lecture class. She can understand the uneasiness of the students that she has a concern on the student's performance during the final exam as this subject covers a wide range that may be not found in the lecture notes.

In my opinion, food security is a something news that bring me a some difficulties to understand that what should I learn, as its too much has a wide scope to study. But throughout this subject, has opened my eyes to know how important of food secure in our country. Everybody plays a role to ensure sufficient food access in the country.
For me notes that had given were clear, simple and interesting. So that, I enjoy to do a revision because it does not contain a lot of pictures that distrupt my concentration.

1. Regarding to the subject, I personally think that Food Security is a subject that are able to opened up my mind and give me some ideas especially about our country's current situation. This subject also makes me realize that food is something important that should never be taken into granted. For the recommendation, it would be better if field trip can be conducted for this subject.

to be real, i am actually concern on SBF as it is first course in Malaysia that offer Food Security programme. thus, i perform few research on few university on food security programme.
from Glasgow university, i can see some of the subject for master student there already been covered by us. which it is a good thing. but there were still more subject that i think we can apply here in UMK. if not in degree level, maybe UMK will offer Master in Food Security soon. :)

even though most of the university that i gives example up there offers for Master level, but it is good to use them as our bench mark. i really wanted to further my study in the future that i hope one day UMK will be on the same level as university above in term of subject given. as far as we learned now, most of the subject triggered us to think , find answers, make hypothesis, that leads to better food security condition to our country and world widely.

2. NOTES
as far as what we observe now, the notes that given is easy to be understand and remembered from both of the lecturer. this is very important as when we wanted to do our assignment, we basically need to refer to our noted. thus , it is much more helping and wonderful if the notes were given earlier. so we can prepare earlier and focus during class.
3. LECTURER
in my opinion, so far, both of our lecturer doing great job in teaching us. Dr Lukman as example, he loves to joke around in order for us to understand more. even though sometimes we will jump into another topic then PnP, sometimes it is good as it is some kind of '5 min rest' for us during lecture.
as for Dr Maryana, it is good to have a lecturer that really care about us when we arrive late at the class. this remind us that we need to behave and follow the rules.
overall, i love both lecturer as they always gives example that easy to be remember and understand.

1. Since this subject is the real subject for our course, I personally can see the important of food security subject to our country. Through this subject also, it make me realise the real situation of our country's food demand situation. Besides, this subject also make me realise that food is one of the important thing for us. As we already learn the theory during the lesson in the class, it would be nice if field trip can be conducted for this subject.

2. For the notes, the notes that are given help the student to understand and remember it for the final but we would appreciate it more if the lecturers can explain it more because sometimes it is hard for us to understand the points that are given. Short and clear explanation would be great.

1) At first, i didn't get any idea about what is food security and not really concerned about this global issue. After learning this subject, it has opened my mind to think beyond it and how the crucial this issue in this world especially Malaysia in future. For me, this subject is really important as we need to secure the food before this issue getting critical as in South Africa.

2) For notes, I am okay with the notes but for some topics, I would be more appreciate if it can include some explanation rather than just giving a point without any subtitle or hint. So, it is quite difficult for me to do a revision since i am not really understand what the notes are going to convey to me. But this problem only happened in a few topics. Overall, I'm okay with the notes

3) For lecturers, i love it when the lecturers give us explanation by giving the example that close to the students' environment. So, we can easily understand. Next, i would like to appreciate if the lecturer can use the 2 hours of class wisely so we can manage to finish the topic earlier so we can make some revision together as this subject is the new subject and the students could not imagine what form of question will be asked in final. 1. This subject is considered new to Malaysian student as it is not a hot course that usually being picked by the postgraduate student. This course has widen my exposure toward the status quo in food supply issue globally. However, I'm feeling blur with my future career as not much explanation on how food security related to our future job were given.

2. Generally the notes is okay but insufficient for us to sit for the final as we were requested to read more article as the scope for food security doesn't not have a clear barrier. More reading material should be recommended as we have no idea on what should we read despite lecture notes.

3. Lecturers were knowledgeable and caring at the same time. However, as both lecturer are burdened with so many stuff, students may find difficulties if they plan to book a time slot with lecturer for more information on the subject.
