It impacted daily lives of locals and attracted national media attention. However, Ardgour is much more than a broken down ferry. The crisis has offered an opportunity to create something positive which celebrates Ardgour, provided assistance to build resilience for the hospitality trade and create potential new business opportunities.

These will be promoted widely and placed on YouTube for all to see.

The videos and raw clips will become the intellectual property right of Ardgour Community Council and can therefore be accessed to be used by the community.

We hope to be able to use the videos to create new tourism opportunities and to use tourism as a means to support services which benefit locals and visitors alike.

We also hope that through the videos and the associated story/audio collections we will all feel a sense of pride in place. 

Ardgour is amazing- lets celebrate that.

We want to make sure that we showcase that this is a place to live and work as well and visit.

Nomad Cafe, The Inn at Ardgour and Ardgour Ales have partnered with the project and feature as food and drink hospitality businesses. 

We will be filming many different aspects of Ardgour including our spectacular natural and cultural heritage. Many residents will feature in the videos and we welcome whoever wants to be involved to do so. Come along and have a read of some of the fascinating stories from the West Coast of Scotland.

The team are also keen to collect Ardgour based stories to include in the website. Stories can be tales of real life, folklore, natural and cultural heritage or anything that is connected to Ardgour.

We are tentatively calling them 'Welcome to Ardgour' but we would like some way of subtly giving the message that people live here to.
