Australia's progress towards gender equality since the Good Housewife Guide was enacted, has been contemplated by all the citizens of Australia for quite some time. Over the 6 million people in Australia we can't say that we've made an undoubted improvement since there is no foolproof evidence. In politics, the only female representatives that have really made a media appearance is Penny Wong and Julia Gillard. From the incident between Julie Gillard and Tony Abbott there has been proof that some people are still stuck in the 1900s. Being a multicultural country, Australia has struggled to prove that gender equality has been stabilised between the different cultures, religions and traditions, that shift and react to other scenarios of other cultures and their beliefs.

Since the publication of “The Good House Wife’s Guide” in 1955 Australia as a whole country has developed a lot and has made significant improvement in gender equality. This includes many rights movements towards gender equality. This includes promoting gender equality rights such as fair pay for both Men and Women. There have also been many rules enforced to ensure higher success of gender equality. Due to these movements we can see a larger number of women have also begun to join the workforce in Australia. Whilst in the modern day there are a few loops and holes in the system there has been a significant change or impact after the “The Good House Wife’s Guide” in 1955.
