At the very top of the page we can see the usage of shading/color of the sky to show the sun setting. This helps the reader understand that the next panels are now taking place at a later time than the page before. Then you can see further down on the page the panel that has a car in the distance. The use of shading/color here tells the reader that a long time has passed. It also catches the readers eye because of how big the panel is. We see the foreground being dark, but the midground and background being light. This part in the story helps the reader understand the time that has passed by and gives the reader a different perspective. His facial expressions and the faces of his peers gives us an insight on the character's mood and how they are feeling.
