         <description><![CDATA[<div>Background: The students at Great Faith were given used books in very poor condition from the county. When Lil Man was given his book he originally refused to take it because it was in such bad condition and then he finally agreed to take one but then he got very and and threw it his book on the floor and stepped on it. He did this because he realized the white students in the country were given new books, and only reused the books when the books were listed from new to excellent to very good to good to average to poor condition, but when a book condition was rated as very poor it was listed given to the black children<br><br>Quote: see, Miz Crockers see what it says.<br>They give us these old books when they didn't want em no more (Taylor, 18)<br><br><br><br>Analysis: This quote shows the theme of racism because they labeling and using derogatory language to bring down a race.</div>]]></description>

He reasoned with her that the bus driver could slow down and then he wouldn't get them and their clothes dirty. Big Ma response to him was to not pay attention to the white folks<br><br>Quote: Ain´t no use frettin about it.
