He was in the back room so I think it had to been Jeff which is Bobs son. His room was back there and no one would have been able to sneak back there because bob was close by. I feel as if they had an argument about prom and what he could do there and after. He was upset that he couldn't do what he wanted. So out of anger he killed his dad first. He shot once but wanted to make sure he finish the job and took another shot to his face. But he couldn't leave any else alive because his cover wouldn't work. So he followed the girls and step-mom down to the basement and killed the mom first because she was trying to fight back to keep her kids safe.
