What I have been practicing in my years of youth development is creating a space where students feel welcomed and intervening when any type of "bullying" happens. I will seek out books and other resources that are representative of my students' backgrounds. In addition, I'll encourage them to ask their families about their cultures and traditions and provide them with a space to share.

The first thing discussed in the linked "white supremacy culture" article was the characteristic of perfectionism, where inadequacies are normally focused on and how usually it is always the same person/people who get credit for success. Instead, we should focus on the areas where students succeed (and not only including the ones who appear to be top performers in the classroom). In the video on setting the mood for our schools, the speaker talked about this as well and how important it is that we constantly show students, every day, that we believe they will succeed and that we are in their corner no matter what.
