At first, I would look for water. Water is a main resource for survival. 
Second, I would look around to search for any dangerous wild animals. If I found they were, I would avoid meeting with them. 
If there was any material that could be used to make an SOS signal, I would use it or prepare it for use.
After that, I would look for food. If there were fruits, it would be my meal. After that, I think I would look for a place to build a home. It might be a hut if there were trees. 
Of course, I would try to make a fire for cooking and warmth. If trees were on an island, I would use them.
The next stage is making a spear for fishing. Fruits are great, but they're not enough for survival.
I hope I will never be on a deserted island :). Because if there were wild animals or dangerous insects, you would die of their bites or attacks faster than a rescuer would come to you.   • If I had a lot of resources (i.e. materials, people), I could start my own country.
  • If I found a country on an island, I would never be its president.

If i were in a hot climate i would build a palm leaf structure to cool myself. It would be worse if i were in a cold climate without snow. So if there was snow, i would build an igloo. If i found a volleyball ball i would draw a face on it and name it. If i found a pirate's stash of rum, I would spend my time on island much much better. I would lay out a word "HELP!", if i found enought stones. If i found a dry wood i would try to set it on fire. If i got it, i would put leaf into the fire to get a smoke. So rescuers would see it if they searched me. But i would do all carefully to not hurt myself if i were on island without first aid kit.
