Do most teachers get a lesson done in one day? I find that the application activities take more time because I want to extend them to write more than what is expected.

So far so good with my ckla experience! My students have been going home and talking about the stories with their families. The are truly excited to start reading each day!

Today I taught Part 2 of Beauty and the Beast. Well I left if for a substitute. The classroom assistant in my room let me know that the kids were very disengaged because the substitute was not very animated with her reading and questioning. We rewatched the video of part 2 at snack.

We began Tall Tales today, Paul Bunyan. We got through most of the lesson but have a little more to finish tomorrow in our second grade classroom.

They love the fairy tale themes so far. They have been engaging and students have been looking forward to the new stories each day.

I'm having a hard time completing one lesson completely in one day. I do complete the rest of the lesson the next day.

My students loved the write your own fairy tale booklet on the pausing day. We also made crowns for the Emperor's New Clothes to use during our performance.

The kids are really entertained by the stories. I really like that the first two stories were fairy tales that the kids did not already know and were not the traditional princess fairy tales.

I am not always completing the application parts of the lesson in a single day. We are trying to incorporate some writing into the lessons as well.

My students are enjoying the stories and really loved hearing a new version of Beauty & the Beast. Most did not know about the Merchant. Preteaching the vocabulary is a huge help and the students are much more interactive with lessons thus far.

I wish that there was more time per story because I could see kids really enjoying doing readers theater with these stories. Perhaps I can do that on the pause days.

They are enjoying the tiny "acting" parts when we say new vocab words. They remember them before I do.

My class has enjoyed all of the stories so far. They love acting out parts and creating their own fairy tales. They also really like coming up with hand gestures for the vocabulary words.

Retelling is getting easier for the students because we put picture clues and words in the story map.

Including vocabulary games like musical chairs. It gives the children a movement break in a fun way.

The students love the illustrations! The stories are pretty funny so far, as well. They like learning the vocabulary words and coming up with motions for them.

I love the ability to use the program as an anchor but am still able to adapt and supplement the activities in my own style.
