Hermes stole some of Apollo's cattle when he was born, and Apollo found him and was mad. He brought him to Zeus. Zeus was more amused than mad at Hermes. Hermes played his lyre he made and Apollo really liked the lyre, so he gave the lyre to Apollo, in exchange for the rest of the cattle. The moral is to not steal something without reason. Asking for something is better for the people in the situation.
