By not teaching whites to recognize white privilege, society allows this issue to remain unaddressed and consequently, unresolved. The “Colectivo Intercultural Transgrediendo” is a no-profit organization located in Queens they advocate for the Latina trans-gendered individuals  empowering them with the use of safe sex and treatment for HIV and STDs, they also provide support for health insurance, immigration status and food pantry.
