Doing whatever you want without anyone judging you when you are alone is also easy, but sticking to what you believe in even when people around you don't share the same views is what makes people special. Stick to your midst and don't let people discourage you. Conforming is for the weak minded

Later on in the podcast Tom papa mentions he uses Transcendental meditation to escape his mind. Transcendental meditation is a technique for detaching yourself from anxiety and promoting harmony with nature and self-realization. Now a days we have so much to focus on that we forget whats truly most important, our well being. By meditating we are taking our consciousness and removing all the negativity present in the moment.

To truly understand something you have to look at its history. This is the Hudson River School founded by Thomas Cole. During the 19th century the united states was becoming its own state, it was a new born nation. Its citizens were looking for a way to distinguish themselves from their European ancestors, so a huge movement began for example like the Second Great Awakening. Transcendentalism is one of those movements that occurred. In the United States there was so much unoccupied land and nature was free and wild ;unmanaged by man yet. The frontier gave Americans what Europeans never had because most of the European land was already settled.

This is one of the most famous statues in Bulgaria and it was the first time I felt alone with nature. The statue is situated several hundred meters above the city and in order to reach those steps you have to hike for about half an hour or so. When you reach the top you are surrounded by nature. On my first time hiking by myself I got lost and couldn't see the statue but I knew it was there so I had to transcend my knowledge because I knew eventual I would reach the top. My example is similar to when Thoreau made Lydian touch the bottom of the pond, she couldn't touch it but she still knew the bottom was there.

In this video Mr.Sinek talks about transcending your feelings and making the best out of an uncomfortable situation. If we focused more of our energy to understand ourselves and who we are we can easily begin to spot flaws in society and help improve it. By making yourself a simpler man it is easier for you to understand yourself, understanding yourself is one step closer to ultimately transcending.

The quote is from a poem by Amos Bronson Alcott. Amos is saying that you have to come out of your comfort zone. The more things you experience the more knowledgeable you are. Transcendentalism is about living a simple life yet the knowledge you acquire must be adequate enough to help you go beyond the limits of your mind, think abstractly. This quote represents transcendentalism quite well, its concise but there is so much more meaning behind it.

Being alone in nature does tent to bring out this inner consciousness in us which for some odd reason makes us feel more in tuned with our environment. Even Thoreau tired doing that when he moved to Walden and went into the woods Main. We all seek approval but the only approval we need is our own, not societies.

"We’re staying silent out of fear" by Charles Lane
In the Article Charles talked about how people will only speak their mind if they are surrounded by other people who think like them. "Meanwhile, 68 percent report that “it is acceptable for me to express what I think” about race, or Islam, only among “people who are like me.” On immigration, 73 percent feel that way; on gay, lesbian and gender issues, the figure is 70 percent." The majority of people are conforming to the pressure of society in the United States. Normally this shouldn't happen because we aren't a communist nation or a dictatorship. Freedom of speech was created implemented into our constitution so this wouldn't happen. Transcendentalism encourages people to speak their mind if they don't agree on an issue with someone because if we want our society to change then that is the only way we can come to a consensus.
