Serbia didn't comply with the orders so Austria Hungary declared war on Serbia. Both countries had alliances who joined in to fight in the war. Germany allied with Austria-Hungary, while France, Russia, and Britain allied with Serbia. News of war travelled overseas to other nations who joined in to fight in the war.

The different allies that helped the different countries resulted to them going to war aswell.
