         <description><![CDATA[<p>Choose 3 Formalist Lens Questions to respond to. Your responses should thoroughly respond to the prompt in at least three sentences. </p><p>How do economic conditions determine the characters lives?</p><p>The Mom (Rose mary) was unemployed due to the economy because there weren't many jobs available for teaching until they moved, especially because her family was in desperate need of money. Rose mary was also affected by "consumer spending" because she has been spending both her and Rex's money on art supplies in order to become a famous artist which has caused her to spend a lot of money on her career. Rosemary was also affected by consumer confidence which has her spending all her money on her art supplies thinking that it will be her way to make a living for her and her family but as Rex repeats which is just a waste of money.</p><p><br/></p><p>Rosemary and Rex think that making sure their kids are safe and know how to defend themselves out in the world are important to them and believe that's what they should do.</p>]]></description>
