The video in this post explains how to use this routine. The teacher gives the students a number and they state how many more are needed to reach the target.

For example: Teacher states we are trying to reach 100.

Teacher: I have 35.

Student: You need 65.

Students make the target number, located in the center, using the numbers around. They can use any mathematical operation and use the numbers in a variety of ways. However each number can be used only once in each equations.

For example: 6+7=13 or 56-43 =13
