I honestly don't know! I feel I already have a good amount of intention, and I worry that trying to do much more will push it into a lack of creativity/strict rigidity.

I am working on this with my architecture shot right now because I am doing it in the house where I know how the light falls and that informs my understanding of greys.

I need to learn to slow down and spend more time composing and visualizing my shots before committing. I'm so accustomed to shooting digital, that I click and click then sort through the later to find the best ones. That's not really possible with film.

Right now I don't think I spend enough time thinking about how the photo will look after it's taken because I feel weird photographing in public. But I think I need to spend more time thinking about how it will look and less time worrying about how I look taking the picture.

Becoming more intentional

I’d like to be more intentional about time of day lighting. Instead of fitting photography into the day when I have time, I’d like to work on fitting the day into my photography so I get the best lighting.

I can begin by sketching an image and using my artistic talent to visualize a photo and composition before taking it with the camera. I will need to experiment with the process to see how it will enhance my photography.

From frame to frame, there always is some intent that I'm vaguely aware of. Going forward, I would like to make that intent a little clearer by pausing to consider how I might support my original impulse by considering light, framing, timing, exposure, or whatnot. Ultimately, I'd hope that would improve my intuition and automatic responses.

I'll probably do what I have been doing - I think I am fairly mindful at this point in my photography. I do other art mediums, and all require prep and thought and intention. So, it's natural for me to plan out when/where, what/how I will be going out to do a shoot.

I'm always trying to find ways to put more effort and intention in my photography. Whether that's in the capture process or in post. There's a certain way that I want my images to look and I tweak things to achieve this look.

I feel that I already shoot with a great deal of intention having first photographed via 35mm (or back in the day my polaroid!) and not wanting to waste any film!! That being said, I feel I am open and conscious to growth opportunities and developing creative and life skills.
