Social networking has helped me stay close to my family even if they are far away. My mom has been in Japan for 7 years and my aunt in the UAE for 6 years, but we always update each other online. Since I take care of my siblings and my aunt’s only son, I share pictures and stories with them, which makes them feel connected to us. It also helps me communicate with classmates and join school groups, which makes me feel included and part of a community.

Social networking has been a big help for me because it made it easier for me to communicate with people, especially those who are my relatives and friends who live in distant places or countries. Also it connects people who share the same interests and hobbies. It helped me build strong friendships both online and offline, and in addition it allowed me to stay in touch with classmates and relatives even if we don’t see each other often. At the same time, this has been a big help for me in my studies because I can now learn even at home without needing to go to school, especially during sudden disasters or virus outbreaks.

As a student, social networking can be distracting for me when it comes to studying. Even though it has been a big help in many ways, it can also be very addictive. Once I start scrolling through Facebook or playing games, I often lose track of time and end up spending less time studying. But I know that’s a mistake on my part.

Sometimes when I spend too much time scrolling on different social media platforms, I forget the things I need to do. Time passes by and I realize I had important tasks, but I wasn’t able to finish them because I got too carried away with watching.

I think spending too much time on social media especially in this day a lot of youth or children spending using it and with the outcome it can affect their behaviour or attitudes also the mental health, like feeling pressured to compare yourself with others or experiencing anxiety from too much information and leading to believe to a lot of fake news. It can also distract us from schoolwork, responsibilities, or even real-life conversations with family and friends. In some cases, excessive use may even lead to addiction, making it harder to focus on more important priorities.

We should always remember the saying, 'Think before you click,' and always respect other people's opinions and beliefs. Social media is a powerful tool you can influence millions of people. That's why you should always think carefully before you act and show respect to others. Don’t force your own sense of right and wrong onto someone else.

We can use social networking responsibly by respecting others and sharing positive content. For me, I use it to stay connected with my mom and aunt abroad and to strengthen our bond as a family. It also helps me support my friends and celebrate their achievements. It makes me happy that there are online platforms where I can greet my friends on their birthdays or congratulate them when they succeed in something. Online community groups are also helpful because many discussions there give advice or information that can benefit everyone. The key is to balance online use with face-to-face interaction so relationships remain genuine and healthy.

We can use social networking responsibly by setting healthy time limits to ourselves and making sure it doesn’t replace our true behaviour or attitudes and face-to-face interactions with people. It also helps to share meaningful and respectful content, avoid spreading negativity, and use the platform to encourage and support others. Being mindful of what we post and how we interact can make social networking a space where positive and genuine connections grow.
