A 21st century education is about giving students the skills they need to succeed in this new world, and helping them grow the confidence to practice those skills. With so much information readily available to them, 21st century skills focus more on making sense of that information, sharing and using it in smart ways.

A 21st century education is one that responds to the economical, technological, and societal shifts that are happening at an ever-increasing pace. It's an education that sets children up to succeed in a world where more than half of the jobs they'll have over their careers don't even exist yet.

Do you feel that the current way we are educating children fully prepares them for the needs of the 21st century?

Yes it does educate learner's and provide them with the extra knowledge. Education system now is great and teachers are more open and they make sure that the learners are comfortable when learning. Teachers are using more practical techniques to teach the students which helps them in understanding better.

Good day. Very good question.
I'll start by giving a direct anwer and say no it does not. My supporting argument is that at school we are taught to remember things and not fully understand it, basically absorbing information then putting it to paper. This information is only vital for passing school but is not applied to everyday life of children. The curriculum also does not teach and prepare children for the basic everyday life problems and how to deal with them eg. Why you need a good credit score, how to do taxes, inflation, investing and financial maturity. When you get to university you learn about your field of study and nothing more to prepare you for life when you'v completed your course. Most of our children when they leave school they just think about working and making money to themselves and they're parents things, they don't know how to grow money, keep it and spending it wisely and at the end of the day they are in debts they struggle to repay and live from hand to mouth. There is not emphasis on sexual education at school as well and the children grow up and learn the hard way then in their aadulthood they struggle to teach they're children as well and the cycle continues hence why it's needed in education for children ar schools. Thus our education system is failing our children in a sense.

This is definetly something to think about.
I wouldn't say that this is something thats currently full on in act, but we are getting there slowly but surely. Through the introduction of ICT and collaborative work.
But theres still alot more to be done. I have discovered that schools are not really teaching students what to expect in industry but rather feeding us more with knowledge. As much thats also important but work places would take someone with the skills for the job rather than someone who's qualified.
